AM Medical Device Verification Workshop

Date: March 19, 2024

Location: Virtual

About the Event

The AM Medical Device Verification Workshop will be held virtually on March 19, 2024 and is organized by ASTM F42.07.03 AM Medical Applications Sub Committee. The language of the workshop will be English.

Objective and Scope

Additive Manufacturing (AM) has been utilized to produce medical devices for over 20 years and has recently seen nearly exponential growth in FDA cleared devices. However, the industry still heavily relies on old testing methods designed for other manufacturing methods for verification and quality control which are not optimized for the additive manufacturing process.

Attend a free workshop to help drive the future of additive manufactured medical device testing. The workshop will include several speakers including new technology providers, representatives from the FDA and industry leading AM contract manufacturers.

Workshop Outcomes:

  • Learn about emerging test methods that could accelerate the use of AM for medical device production.
  • Collaborate with industry leaders to investigate, study and advance new technologies.
  • Aid in the prioritization of new work items for development by ASTM F42.07.03.
